Dimante is a young male adult who moved into our VOCA Supportive Housing in June 2019. He was homeless immediately prior to moving in with us and according to our VOCA staff, Dimante had a hard time following the rules and was on the verge of being discharged. However, in Marchthings started to change dramatically with Dimante when he enrolled and began participating in our Works Wonders program. Our Works Wonders and Supportive Housing staff worked cooperatively to encouragand to support Dimante. He enrolled in our online diploma program in July 2020 and began working with our staff to earn his high school diploma. His therapist set him up with another of our VOCA Housing young adults as his “accountability partner.” This peer helped Dimante stay on track, and she made sure Dimante made it to his Zoom classes. Dimante earned his online HS diploma this month and the Monroe Harding staff teamed up to surprise him with a graduation celebration! We are so proud of Dimante! Our education staff has helped Dimante to submit his Nashville State CC application, and he hopes to start college in January!
