Join us for STAND SUNDAY on November 12th
Right now, in the state of Tennessee there are 7,780 kids in foster care and 2,756 kids waiting to be adopted.
Today, we are reaching out on behalf of those children to ask if you will help us start a conversation in your congregation.
We are joining forces with the Christian Alliance for Orphans to invite our church partners to participate in Stand Sunday on November 12, 2017. On this day, churches across America will make the commitment to stand and raise awareness for children in foster care.
This link will take you to a two minute video that talks about the history of Stand Sunday – https://cafo.org/orphansunday/resources/foster-care-resources/.
There are many ways that we can support you as you take a stand with Monroe Harding for children and youth in foster care on November 12th:
- Share our videos: we have two recent videos of families and their journey through foster care and adoption. The Gordon Family https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eifpWVfNxdw.
- Have a Monroe Harding staff member, foster parent or young person come and briefly share more about Monroe Harding. We can talk about what kind of in-person presentation would be the best fit for your congregation.
- Add information about foster care to your church bulletin, newsletter or website. We would send you the text for this and you would be able to insert it into whatever format you would like.
- Receive a special Offering to support children and older youth in foster care.
- Get Involved! We have some tangible ways that your congregation can get involved with Monroe Harding. From hosting a supply drive to making meals for our Financial Literacy program’s youth participants; babysitting for our foster parent training classes or sponsoring a child or sibling group at Christmas. We have several opportunities and would love to talk with you more about how to spread the word at your church.
