Education Support for Youth and Young Adults

Monroe Harding helps youth and young adults work toward high school completion, post-secondary education, and other academic goals. We employ a skilled educator who provides individualized support based on each young person’s needs and goals.

Education Programs

Monroe Harding’s Resource Center supports four education programs designed to help young people reach their academic and career goals:

HiSET High School Equivalency

Students work one-on-one or in small groups with an instructor to build skills in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. When ready, students take the HiSET exams to earn a state-recognized high school equivalency credential.

Online High School Diploma

Students complete 21.5 credits through an accredited online program to earn a traditional high school diploma, with staff support to help them stay on track and succeed.

Post-Secondary Support

Guidance and hands-on assistance with exploring college and career options, completing applications, scheduling campus tours, and navigating financial aid and FAFSA.

Tutoring

Individualized academic support to strengthen foundational skills, improve study habits, and build confidence in schoolwork across subjects.

Additional Education Support

Graduation Celebration

Each spring, Monroe Harding hosts a cap-and-gown graduation celebration to honor participants who have completed an academic program. This special event recognizes their hard work, achievements, and next steps toward their goals.

Monroe Harding Scholarship

Monroe Harding awards $8,000–$10,000 annually to help young adults pursue post-secondary education. Funds may be used for tuition, housing, transportation, childcare, technology, or school supplies. This scholarship is designed to remove financial barriers and support students on their path to success.
