VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
& WISH
LIST
|
Mentors and
tutors are a huge part of ensuring success for our youth.
Monroe Harding appreciates the impact that volunteers have on our organization and remains committed to being flexible and open to volunteer ideas. Our volunteer opportunities are certainly not limited to those listed below. Monroe Harding strives to be accommodating to any volunteers willing to help make a difference in the lives of youth in need.
YOUTH MENTORING
Be a positive consistent role model. Spend quality time with a resident once a week. Mentors provide the opportunity for the youth to build one-on-one relationships and have someone to confide in and count on while experiencing activities and relationships that they may have never had before. (Afternoons, Monday-Saturday)
YOUTH TUTORS
|
Tutors assist youth on campus with GED and High School studies. They are matched one-on-one in a subject appropriate to the tutor’s skills and youth needs. (Afternoons, Monday-Thursday)
PROJECT S.H.A.R.E. MENTORING
Spend one hour a week mentoring/tutoring an at-risk elementary age child during their school day, at the school. Activities will include playing, reading, talking, and learning. (During school hours, Monday-Friday)
SPECIAL EVENTS VOLUNTEERS
|
This can be an opportunity for groups or individuals. Monroe Harding hosts a number of special events annually. Volunteers are needed to help with planning, set-up, checking in guests, and running errands. (Dates and times vary)
WORK DAYS
Many volunteer groups spend a day together on campus assisting with yard work, painting, cleaning and other facility needs. These can be scheduled during the week or weekends throughout the entire year.
WISH LIST DRIVES
Create a Wish List Drive to collect any variety of items listed on Monroe Harding’s Wish List.
ADMINISTRATIVE VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are needed during the business day to assist with answering the phones, distributing the mail, greeting guests, helping stuff and seal envelopes, entering data, thanking donors and volunteers, and other ongoing tasks.

youth of the cottage. This would include
activities such as: decorating the cottage, providing
cake and other refreshments, bringing birthday
presents for the resident and providing games and/or
entertainment.
- Planning outings and/or events around the
holidays of the year such as Valentine's Day,
Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and
