Graduated from Hillsboro. Joined USAF. Vietnam veteran. Retired in 1975. Obtained BSSW at MTSU. Worked for TN Dept of Human Services. Retired in 1998. Married to Mary Elizabeth Evans for 45 yrs. We have one daughter and two grandaughters (both students at Carson Newman). I went by my middle name of Buford at MHCH. (There were two other boys named Charles) My two sisters - Betty Charlene nee Hilgadiack and Willadean nee Webb were at MHCH while I was there. |

I was at Monroe Harding 1973 for about 6 months. I was Ms. Janco's unit.
I have been married for 28 years and have 2 children Jennifer age 25 and Jay age 15. I married into a great family. I worked in banking for 15 years and for the last 7 I have been a bookkeeper for a Commerical Roofing Company.
I am involved in several ministries at College Heights Baptist Church. I love the Lord. I love to sing His praises for what He has done in my life. I am His trophy of Grace! I would like to hear from anyone that was there during that time. |

A couple of years ago (after 16 years with Vanderbilt University), I joined the Human Resources dept of a local wireless phone company. I have a 27 year old married son. (No grandchildren yet!) I am very active in the local chapter of the Miata Club of America. Have lived in the Nashville area my entire life. Monroe Harding was a long-time home for myself, my sister, Gayle, and 3 brothers...Mike, Ike and Johnny. Mike has passed on, but the rest of us keep in touch regularly. I am thankful that Monroe Harding allowed us to stay together. |

I am currently disabled .I have worked many many years.... my last employer of 22 years, Gaylord Entertainment otherwise known as "Opryland USA" spending the last 8 years at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. Specializing in financial accounting, data entry systems, general ledger, accounts receivable and other accounting functions and general support etc... I am currently residing at my brother's retirement residence in Coffee County, TN ...I have lost touch with people, I knew from Monroe. At the present time, I have one biological and one adopted daughter, 3 grandsons and another on the way. And at this time I would also like to confess to a few things that caused some confusion years ago, things no one really ever knew the "Who Done Its" I admit & I confess.It was me! I sent EVERY taxi cab in Nashville (and a few pizzas and who knows what else)to Jack Salisbury's house!!! as well as the audio books on how to teach a monkey how to talk. /evil grin :-) O and uh the funeral wreaths as well... My sense of humor is still there!!! But on a serious note, I have worked many places and done and seen many things since then. I fought to go to work at 13. after that I had worked for South Central Bell Tel. Co. now Bell South, Robert Orr, then Gaylord Entertainment as the last place of gainful employment; earning a retirement and a pension. Where I now reside, I am very close to Monteagle and lots of other mountains in the South Cumberland Plateau of TN. I have lived many other places since leaving Monroe but TN will always be home and I always end up back in TN... No matter what or what is going on in my life I always feel at home back in TN. |
